Work is continuing on the and expect to reopen the roadway between South Fayette and Collier by mid-October.
The roadway was damaged by a landslide in 2011 and crews installed a stop sign to let intermittent traffic through the area.
and crews from Pennsylvania American Water Company worked to replace a pipeline beneath the road.
That work has since been finished and construction crews are now trying to stabilize the hillside.
Work on a bridge across Thoms Run will being soon and should be finished by the middle of October.
PennDOT estimates that a little more than 5,000 cars normally use Presto-Sygan Road each day.
