Power Line Relocation Begins in Heidelberg

Heidelberg's plan to help beautify the community began on Sept. 4.

The power lines that cross Route 50 through Heidelberg began to disappear Wednesday, as crews from Duquesne Light began work to relocate the lines and create a more beautiful downtown area.

Through a program by borough council and Heidelberg Mayor Ken LaSota, the borough is relocating all of the electrical and cable TV service lines that cross Route 50 to Oak Way.

The goal, borough manager Joe Kauer said, is to create a more welcoming “Downtown” effect in Heidelberg.
