Weekend Planner: St. Patrick’s Day Edition

Here are five events to check out this St. Patrick's weekend.

Where/When: Mt. Lebanon Ice Center, 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday
Why Go: Bring the family for an afternoon of ice skating and enjoy the special effects lighting, DVD videos and arcade games. Back to school is the theme for the afternoon.
Pricing: $4.75 admission, $2 skate rental.

Where?/When?: South Fayette Township Library, 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday
Why Go?: For ages 3-5 years with caregivers. The group sings songs (with motions), read stories and enjoy age-appropriate art activities. This high-energy program develops language, math, motor and social skills. No registration is required.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Bring your sewing, knitting, or any craft and enjoy the company of like-minded people as you work.

Where?/When?: Downtown Pittsburgh, 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The Pittsburgh St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place this weekend in downtown Pittsburgh. Click here for the parade route. This parade is the 2nd largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the world. Pittsburgh's very large and active Irish community come together each year to produce a family oriented celebration of Ireland's patron Saint. For other events, click here.

Where?/When?: Crossroads United Methodist Church, 12:45 to 6 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Come to Crossroads United Methodist Church to see a live simulcast with money expert, Dave Ramsey. The “Total Money Makeover” LIVE event is the largest event on personal finance in the U.S. It is a high energy presentation on financial principles that will change your life while having fun. The LIVE simulcast from Orlando, Florida will take place at the Bridgeville campus. Doors open at 12. Call 412-494-9999 to register.
