Patch Helps Reunite Lost Dog with Family

A Chartiers Valley Patch story posted Wednesday morning about a missing dog from Bridgeville helped reunite the family with its lost pooch a few hours later.

The family of Harper, a 2-year-old English Mastiff, began posting information about her on Facebook after she ran away from their Bridgeville home Tuesday. She was last seen on Baldwin Street, but the family thought they followed her tracks to Cook School Park.

But a story posted on Chartiers Valley Patch alerted a woman who saw Harper in the backyard of her Bridgeville home. The dog’s owner, Amanda Kutschbach, posted on the CV Patch Facebook page that the story helped them bring Harper home.

“Your post about Harper is what brought her back to us!” Kutschbach wrote in her post. “A woman named Cindy called me (Wednesday) morning and said she saw the post on the Chartiers Valley Patch and she noticed Harper in her backyard! Thanks to everyone who shared her pic and got the word out - SHE IS HOME!!!”

Harper apparently was walking between Baldwin Street and Greenwood Place throughout the night. She found a spot not far from the family home and was sleeping on someone's back porch.

The family posted a photo on their Facebook page around 8 a.m. Wednesday after finding the tired pup. She spent the rest of the day sleeping on her favorite couch with a t-shirt belonging to one of Kutschbach’s son.
