A mini dachshund found wandering in Upper St. Clair last week has a new home.
A young woman living in Mt. Pleasant adopted the dog Friday night after reading news reports that he was found as a stray and needed a home.
Animal Control Officer Roy Hayward said the woman contacted them Sunday to say the dog is doing well and loves his new forever home.
“We had many inquiries as to his status, and I am happy to report that (the woman) adopted the furball out Friday evening!” Hayward wrote in an email.
An Upper St. Clair resident found the older mini dachshund wandering near Baker Elementary school last week and turned him over to animal control.
He did not have tags or an ID microchip when he was found.
