Owner needs help finding cocker spaniel named Freckles

Bridgeville police are asking for the public's help in locating a lost dog.

The tan and white cocker spaniel named Freckles escaped from salon Wednesday and was last seen running down Hickman Street. The dog is not wearing any tags and does not have a microchip.

“She’s very distraught over this,” Bridgeville police Chief Chad King said of the owner.

King said the animal apparently got loose by going through two open doors in Paws-N-Claws.

The owner, Pat Henger, who lives in Cecil, said Freckles is used to a rural setting and would not be accustomed to heavy traffic or cars. She said the family has been searching at all hours, and appreciated the help from the Bridgeville community.

“Everybody has been so nice,” Henger said. “We were out at midnight (Thursday) and the woman in the car in front of us was hollering his name. We’ve had so many kind people looking for him.”

Anyone who may have seen this dog is asked to call Bridgeville police at 412-221-6052. They can also call Henger at 412-886-7941.
