Kirwan Heights VFD Gets New American Flag from Congressman Murphy

U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy handed over the flag to the Kirwan Heights firefighters on Thursday morning.

Congressman Tim Murphy was driving on Washington Pike in Collier with an aide when he noticed the Kirwan Heights Volunteer Fire Department’s flag was looking a little old.

Murphy’s spokeswoman Amy Larkin said that prompted an idea for him to help the fire department with the tattered American flag that takes a beating during the winter.

She said he decided to take the initiative and purchase one of the American flags his office offers to constituents that flies over the U.S. Capitol.
