Hundreds Run in Montour Trail Race

The 5k and 10k charity races Sunday benefited the Montour Trail

CECIL - The charity race went off without a hitch Sunday as hundreds participated in the 10k and 5k events along the Montour Trail.

The event kicked off at 9 a.m. in Cecil Park and wound along the Montour Trail until winners were announced and awarded $300, $200 and $100 depending on their finishing order. Even a little bit of rain couldn't dampen the event as hundreds participated in the two races and 2-mile walk.

A post-race ceremony included a Burgh’s buffet of wings, hoagies, pop, fruit, pasta, beer, water and more. This is the 11th year for the event, which benefits the Montour Trail for improvement projects and upkeep.
