Heidelberg's Oktoberfest Moved to Fire Hall

Festival is moved to the Heidelberg Fire Department due to weather.

Heidelberg has moved its to the borough's fire hall.

The borough’s celebration will be held Saturday from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Heidelberg Volunteer Fire Department. Many activities are scheduled throughout the day and will include food, live music, kids’ activities, hay rides, crafts and, of course, beer.

The festival will include music from the Don Wojtila Polka Band, Mansfield 5 and Helen Matlak.

There will also be children’s activities with a pumpkin patch, bounce house, duck pond, scavenger hunt, face painting and hayrides. For adults, there will be craft and specialty vendors selling everything from jewelry to stained glass.

The Heidelberg Volunteer Fire Department will offer bratwursts, haluski, pyrohis, kielbasa, and will serve pulled pork, fries and hot dogs. There will be other food, including kettle corn, shaved ice and beer.

Grumpy’s is also excited to announce a Hot Dog Eating Contest, among other games and raffles the borough is putting together.

The borough is asking visitors to park at and either walk to the park or take a free hay ride shuttle. Industry Way will be closed to traffic.
