Grab & Go Kids Planner: Storytime, Fish Fry and Eco-Friendly Fun!

Here are our top 5 picks for March 24-26

Welcome to the Chartiers Valley Grab & Go Kids Planner! Each week we assemble a weekend calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to check out. You're pressed for time, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance. 

Look for the kids planner each Thursday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips by adding them to the comment box. This week, enjoy a storytime or head to a fish fry! Here are all the details as well as three other of our top family-friendly event suggestions for this weekend and the upcoming week.

What: 

When: 6-8 p.m. Thursday

Where: 

Cost: $40

This program is designed for girls ages 9 to 11 and their mothers. The Growing and Changing program will focus on the physical changes that accompany the onset of puberty. Call or click here to register. 

 

What: 

When: 10:30 - 11 a.m. Friday

Where: South Fayette Township Library

Cost: Free

For ages 3-5 years with a caregiver. The group will sing songs (with motions), read stories and enjoy age-appropriate art activities. This high-energy program develops language, math, motor and social skills. No registration is required.

 

What: 

When: 11:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday

Where: 

All dinners include fries, coleslaw and roll/butter. Stay at the church to eat or order in. Either way, this is a great way to enjoy a dinner with your family. 

 

What: 

When: 10 a.m. Saturday

Where: 

Cost: Free

Children, ages 2 - 3 1/2, are welcome to join in on stories, rhymes and songs! This is a great way to improve your child's development. 

 

What: Kidgits Little Planet Helpers Event 

When: 1 - 3 p.m. Saturday

Where: South Hills Village, Lower Level North Court

Cost: Free

Kids will learn fun ways to keep the environment clean and healthy! There will also be activities that will instill respect for our planet! Activities include planting your own seeds, a pitch-in recycling game, eco-friendly arts & crafts, giveaways and more!
