Girl Scouts Collecting Supplies for Homeless Pets

Girl Scout Troop 50099 in Collier is collecting pet supplies for homeless animals living in the Animal Friends shelter.

Girl Scouts from Troop 50099 are collecting pet supplies over the next couple weeks for animals living in the Animal Friends shelter in Avonworth.

The Girl Scouts are asking for the community to donate treats, Timothy hay for rabbits, cat litter, fleece blankets and old bath towels.

The collection points will happen over several days in Collier Township and Carnegie. The troop is part of the Chartiers Creek Service Unit and the all the girls are within the Chartiers Valley School District.

The troop will start collecting the supplies at Kmart in Chartiers Valley Shopping from noon to 3 p.m. on Nov. 3.

The next collection date will be on Election Day at the Collier Township Municipal Building on from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Girl Scouts also plan to collect supplies at Burton’s Total Pet store in Chartiers Valley Shopping Center on Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The final collection dates are planned at The Hill Group in Carnegie from Nov. 5 to 16 during normal operating hours.
