Forecast Calls for Snow

The National Weather forecast has issued a winter weather advisory through 6 p.m. Friday.

A word to the wise: Be careful out there today.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory through 6 p.m. for the area—with between 3 and 5 inches of snow expected by tonight.

Flakes are expected to begin falling around 10 a.m., with “areas of blowing snow possible.”

And that weather may snarl traffic, so exercise caution on your daily commute to and from work, or wherever your travels take you today.

“Dangerous travel conditions are expected due to quickly falling temperatures icing over roads followed by strong winds and snow showers,” the National Weather Services indicated on its website.

The snow is starting to pick up and the wind is really howling. Be safe if you're on the roads.

I was a mite disappointed, less than a 1/2" at my place.

We didn't get any more than an inch here. You would've thought we were getting a blizzard the way TV news hyped it up last night. Is it sweeps week?

I had occasion to travel to the great white north of Franklin Park between 10 and 11 this morning. Not a lot there either, but the winds were brutal and although there were lots of salt trucks out (them rich folk ain't happy if they don't get service) the roads drifted over as soon as the truck went by. The weather was too temperate for too long so I expect that will now get a whuppin' based on the theory that everything always reverts to the mean.
