“We did not have a fair or community days, so we needed to do some sort of event, so Oktoberfest popped in our minds,” said Janet Wank, who is helping to organize the event.

Some of the bands include Guadi Buam, The Barons, NOMaD and Justin Morris of Mercury. Froggy radio station will also be there Saturday night.

The vendors include local favorites such as , Papa Gallo, Rennerdale Corner Store, The Market at Walkers Mill and The Pretzel Shoppe. Meanwhile, will be serving Oktoberfest beer.

The food and music is a key part of the event, but Wank said municipal officials also want residents to see the new community park that once served as a military installation. A map of what the park will look like one day will be on view between the fitness center and community room.

“It’s just pretty much for (residents) to see what Collier has to offer and what is coming into the future,” Wank said.
