Bridgeville Boy Fighting Cancer Gets a "Night at the Races"

Rusmer Floors in Bridgevile is hosting a "Night at the Races" this Sunday, June 2, for an employee's son, who recently was diagnosed with cancer.

Zach Dyer, 11, who's father works at Rusmer Floors, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma disease and is undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Rusmer employees hope to raise money for a trust fund in Zach's name to help offset medical expenses.

The "Night at the Races" will be held at Static in Pittsburgh's Strip District on June 2, starting at 3 p.m. Complimentary appetizers and a cash bar will be included. Tickets can be bought in advance for $10.

Guests will bet on different simulcast horse races, and half of the total race dollars wagered will go to the trust fund. The cost to "own" a horse is $10 per horse, and the owners of winning horses will receive $20.

For more donation information, and arrangements to “buy” a horse or a race, call 412-221-6366 and ask for Tami Boyle or Erica Laschon.

For donations, make checks payable to The Zachary Dyer Trust and send to Rusmer Floors Carpet One, 500 Station Street, Bridgeville, Pa., 15017, Attn: Zachary Dyer Trust.
