The weekend is almost here and there is a TON of stuff happening in the area. Well, Chartiers Valley Patch is coming to the rescue with our new Get Out Weekend Planner!

We’ve got 5 of the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

Where?/When?: Michaels in Bethel Park, Thursday, June 30, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Why Go?: Ages 3 and up will celebrate Canada with a moose and maple leaf craft while supplies last.

Where?/When?: , Saturday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.  
Why Go?: Children ages 5 through 12 will make a coaster set at this hands-on workshop.
Pricing: FREE.

Where/When: South Fayette Township Library, Saturday, 1-3 p.m.
Why go?: This program, directed by Brittany Ketter, is designed for high school teens who share a passion for writing. Participants will learn the art of storytelling, sharpen their writing skills and learn how to create inciting incidents, build strong characters, make unbelievable plots and work through dialogue. Participants also write a novel and, if desired, are taken through the publishing process. The guest writer will be David Mayernick, Jr., Staff Writer, Bridgeville Area News. Where?/When?: Point State Park and the North Shore, Saturday - Monday, for a full schedule of events, click here.
Why Go?: Take advantage of your Pittsburgh area residence and enjoy the largest inland regatta event in the United States. The event includes live music, boat races, fishing, kids zone, dragon boats, bike stunts and so much more! Beware of traffic on Saturday due to the Kenny Chesney concert at 4:30 p.m.

Where?/When?: , Sunday, 3 p.m.
Why Go?: Come cheer on Pittsburgh’s professional soccer team! The Pittsburgh Riverhounds will take on the Antigua Barracuda.
Pricing: $9 for adults, $6 for students.
