A weekend guide to local events.

The weekend is almost here and there is a TON of stuff happening in the area. Well, Chartiers Valley Patch is coming to the rescue with our Get Out Weekend Planner!

We’ve got 5 of the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

Where?/When?: Saint Germaine Parish & School, Thursday-Saturday, 6-11 p.m.
Why Go?: The St. Katharine Drexel Fun Fair will be held at the St. Germaine Parish Grounds in Bethel Park. The fair runs through Aug. 13. Families can look forward to food booths, games of chance, rides, bingo, poker, dinner and more! Dinner will be served nightly from 5-7 p.m.
Pricing: Free Admission.

Where?/When?: Pottery Barn Kids at the Galleria, Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: Learn how to create a beautiful room like you see in the Pottery Barn catalog. The staff will provide you with great tips on creating a beautiful environment for your new baby.
Pricing: Free.

Where?/When?: Michaels, Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon
Why Go?: Ages 3 and up will Create a crafty bookworm from a clay pot for great place to hold your bookmarks and other knickknacks. This is a make-it take-it program that is free with purchase of clay pot, while supplies last.

Where?/When?: , Saturday, 10-11 a.m.
Why Go?: It's for kids around 5 and up. Younger kids can come too, as long as the parents are willing to help them with the projects. The kids will get a free apron, goggles, and a project patch. Parents stay there while the kids work on the projects.This week the project is a school house photo holder.
Pricing: Free.

Where?/When?: , Saturday, 5:30 p.m.
Why Go?: The Yellow Ribbon Military Benefit Dinner and Dance will be held at the Alpine Hunting & Fishing Club in Bridgeville. The proceeds will benefit the Fisher House of Pittsburgh. The band Corned Beef & Curry will perform. The ticket price includes hors d'oeuvres, dinner, beverages, dessert, live music and a brown bag auction. Call 412-341-4628 for ticket information.
