Meals on Wheels of Peters Township Accepting New Clients in Bridgeville Area

Meals on Wheels of Peters Township began serving the Bridgeville/S. Fayette area in June 2013, and we continue to welcome new clients. Senior citizens who have difficulty shopping or cooking their own meals are encouraged to call for information and to sign up for service. There are no specific age or income requirements.

Meals on Wheels of Peters Township is a non-profit organization that has been serving senior citizens for 39 years. It is an independent kitchen with no institutional ties or government funding. Thanks to generous community support, the program can offer good quality, nutritious meals for a modest fee. Currently, we serve approximately 180 clients on twelve routes in a wide area that includes Peters, Canonsburg, Houston, Finleyville, Eighty-Four, Lawrence, Bridgeville/S. Fayette, and parts of Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park. Current clients give this program very positive reviews for the quality of the food.

The cost for a week of hot meals is $15.00. Each day’s delivery includes soup, a hot entrée with meat, vegetable, and starch, and also salad, dessert, and milk. For $18/week, a client can receive all the hot meal items, plus a sandwich, juice, and cookie for a second meal. We offer regular and diabetic meals, and can also accommodate some other special needs, such as for chopped meals and some allergies.  Anyone interested in receiving Meals on Wheels should call 724-969-1000. Friends and family are welcome to call as well. You can also visit our website for more information: www.mowpt.org.
