Maggi Launches Westmoreland County Campaign

On Monday, more than 30 people rallied to support Larry Maggi for Congress at a volunteer’s home in Scottdale.

A crowded living room stood together to hear more about their candidate for Congress and learn more how to get involved in the campaign.

Joan Brown, an ardent supporter and community leader, introduced Larry Maggi.

“I first met Larry Maggi at a local meeting and I was drawn immediately to his campaign.  I knew his record of job creation in Washington County and his message of putting the middle-class first would resonate across Westmoreland County.  In the crowd today we have teachers, policemen, firefighters, and union members.  Larry Maggi has helped create good paying jobs in Washington County where private sector wages have increased by 9% since he took office.  We deserve a Congressman like Larry Maggi who will put the middle-class first,” said Joan Brown.

Maggi started his stump speech:

“As a State Trooper, I could always tell what someone would do in the future based on what they had done in the past. Now that the tables are turned, I want to tell you about my background. I was born in Claysville and raised by a steelworker and a waitress. I couldn’t afford to go to college so I joined the Marines to serve my country. After going to California University of PA on the GI Bill, I joined the State Police to protect our families and keep our streets safe.  Southwest Pennsylvania made me who I am today and I have a deep rooted dedication to service of the people that gave me every opportunity to succeed,” said Larry Maggi.

Maggi delivered remarks to an energized crowd:

“Congress is not looking out of the middle-class.  We know that we cannot sustain economic growth unless we get our spending under control—but we cannot cut vital investments like Medicare and Social Security.  Lets create jobs by holding the line on taxes and spending like I have done in Washington County.  As Commissioner, I balanced eight budgets, kept taxes at the second lowest rate in the region, and today we are third in the nation for job growth wages have increased by 9%.  I want to bring Washington County solutions to clean up the mess in Washington, DC,” said Maggi.

Had a chance to see Larry speak. Thanks for sticking up for the President's healthcare law!

Whole lot of "I's" in there. One might be led to believe that Maggi accomplished all that's good in Washington County all by himself. Hmmmm? And oh, by the way, tax and spend works well. Just ask Johnstowners what happened when the golden goose, Jack Murtha, passed away.

Larry - instead of campaigning why don't you show up for work once in a while and earn that inflated salary you collect? Since you voted to give yourself a pay raise, you've been getting fat and happy off the taxpayer's dime.
