Thank you to Mike and everyone at the Chartiers Valley Patch. I am looking forward to blogging here!
The bulk of the blog will be short, "tweet" length thoughts about tarot cards. These are sometimes called "Daily Tarot Meditations" or "Meditation Readings." The idea is to think about the advice that the card gives. These "Tarot Tweets" are just a spark, some inspiration for your day. Sometimes, if we are lucky, it will give you a 'heads up' about what the next day or so may have in store for you.
I'm hoping this will be a little like the daily horoscopes in newspapers, only with Tarot Cards. Occasionally I'll post more in-depth looks at Tarot, or psychic/paranormal/spirituality topics, all with a sprinkling of Scott Township's "Birdland" neighborhood happenings and helpful hints from the world of holistic health.
If there was a tarot card for this post, it would be the "Fool" card. Some decks give it the more modern name of "The Innocent". It is the very first card of the Tarot deck, and with good reason.
Tarot was developed in medieval Europe, so the deck's language and images take a little effort to understand, a little bit like watching a classical Shakespearean play. So the "fool" in this sense is more like an innocent and playful character, just starting out on their life-learning journey, like the 'class clown' in a junior high school class. It is also like the court jester in medieval times...or late night comedy today. This is not the modern kind of unwise, ignorant, careless "fool". This fool isn't foolish. Humor can hold great wisdom, and there is happiness and fun in beginnings, when anything is possible.
Wishing you a happy, playful day -
Ronda
