What’s Worse for Steelers Fans? Ray Lewis Retires as a Champion or 49ers Win Sixth Super Bowl?
Do we root against Ray Lewis, whose career with the Baltimore Ravens has angered Yinzers for 17 years, or do we root against the 49ers so they don’t match the Steelers with six Super Bowl titles?
Judgment Day has come for Yinzers across Steeler Nation in Super Bowl XLVII.
Do we root against Ray Lewis, whose career with the Baltimore Ravens has angered Yinzers for 17 years, or do we root against the 49ers so they don’t match the Steelers with six Super Bowl titles?
It’s a tough choice.
Lewis, one of the greatest linebackers in NFL history, has a torrid history with the law after he was arrested on murder charges in 2000. Those charges were eventually dropped and Lewis pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice.
But what might stick in the craw of every Pittsburgher is when Lewis mocked Joey Porter’s kick celebration in 2003. Porter, the former Steelers linebacker who was injured after being shot earlier in that year, thought Lewis was mocking him and challenged him to a fight as the Ravens boarded their team bus.
Who would want to see him hoist the Lombardi Trophy and immediately retire, a la Jerome “The Bus” Bettis?
Or do we root against the San Francisco 49ers?
They’re on the verge of tying the Steelers’ record of six Super Bowl titles.
Some Steeler fans still haven’t forgotten the Niners winning our “one for the thumb” in January 1995 instead of Pittsburgh. That was also the year the Steelers lost to the San Diego Chargers in the AFC Championship game. Does the name Tim McKeyer ring a bell?
Or could you care less about the Super Bowl? Will you just watch the commercials, or Puppy Bowl? Vote in the Patch Poll or tell us in the comments section!

The way i see it is this. I do not like Ray Lewis. The Steelers can always win another Super Bowl (and likely will) but if Ray Lewis gets a ring, he will have it forever. Go 49ers!

Doesn't matter if
Ravens win, Lewis will always be a LOSER!
If SF wins, so they have SIX.
Steelers still did it FIRST!!

Why do we have to be so negative? Let's be good sports, watch the game for fun (and commercials) and wait for an exciting Steeler season next year.

If the Ravens win, I would fully expect Ray Lewis NOT to retire. This will enable him to do a full season on "farewell tour." He had only a few games on the tour this season, and another season would give him many more games on tour.
On the other hand, if the Ravens loose, then he will have reason to return for the next season "to try one last time to get a ring." This too will permit a full season to be on "farewell tour."

Ray Lewis announced before the playoffs that he was retiring after the season regardless if they won the Super Bowl. You won't see him in uniform on an NFL football field ever again.

Puppy Bowl and Downton Abbey - YES!!
Jerome Bettis deserved the HALL OF FAME. He is smart, successful, a gentleman etc etc. Was this vote jealousy, sour grapes?
The NFL needs counselors and mentors for many of the Yahoos that get in trouble. Then they need to can the misfits and show a positive example. some of the players that are interviewed cannot even speak properly. Gee - how about off with the hat and on with a decent shirt and/or sportcoat
