The USA Diving National Preliminary Championships will be held later this month at the Robinson-based Settlers Cabin Dive Pool.
The event, held July 19 to July 21, is one of four regional meets that serves as qualifiers for the U.S. National Diving Championships.
The event is an open senior meet that will feature competitors age 14 and older. Winners in the competition will qualifiy for the August AT&T National Diving Championships in Greensboro, NC.
Dorothy Krug, director of the Pitt Aquatic Club, will serve as the meet's director. Krug's daughter Cassidy, a 2003 Montour graduate, has qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic team in the women's 3m springboard competition and is a 10-time national champion.
Attending the meet:
The meet is open to the public and spectators are able to use the Settlers Cabin Wave Pool during the competitions.
Admission to the meet is: $3 for ages 60 and older; $5 for ages 18 to 59; $4 for ages 13 to 17; $3 for ages 6 to 12; and $1 for infants to 5-year-olds.
