Scott Woman Found in Fayette County

Linda Meyer, the owner of Wiggy's restaurant, had been missing since she left work Wednesday night.

The 56-year-old Scott Township woman missing since Wednesday night was found alive in Fayette County, state police said.

Troopers at the Uniontown barracks said Friday night they located Linda Meyer in Point Marion. They were working to transfer her over to Scott Township police and did not have more details on why she was in Fayette County.

Meyer, who owns the popular Wiggy’s restaurant in Pittsburgh’s West End, had been missing since Wednesday night when she was seen leaving work. Scott police said investigators were following leads Friday afternoon.

A worker who answered the phone at Wiggy’s on Friday afternoon said they had no comment on the situation.

Maybe she wanted to be in Fayette County, ln which case she wasn't "missing" if she was where she wanted to be.

highly doubtful, i don't know too many people who actually WANT to be in fayette county, but you are right, she is an adult and can go wherever she wants. they err on the side of caution these days because of abductions and such, people who disappear because they want to are only labeled as "missing" by those who think they can say where that person should be. it's a strange, imperfect system, but it is understandable given the high crime rates these days. however, if she wanted to stay "missing," she also could have told the authorities that she was where she wanted to be, and if she was not breaking any laws by doing so, they could just let her be. i don't know how this area handles that, fayette county would be a little weirded-out by someone deliberately deciding to come here for some legal purpose. i'd rather be anywhere but here.
