Scammers Rip Off Collier Homeowner
A pair of scammers pretending to do roof work ripped off a Collier Township homeowner last week.
A pair of scammers ripped off a Collier Township homeowner last week.
Collier police said a man and woman went to a Cloverleaf Drive home to work on the roof on Aug. 22 and then split up while inside.
Police said the woman went to a bathroom while the man went onto the roof to look at a repair. The homeowner later reported $170 from his bedroom.
Police said the pair left the home in a silver Mercedes-Benz sport-utility vehicle with Florida plates. Anyone with information on the apparent robbery are asked to call Collier police at 412-276-5051.
Boy charged with theft: A 17-year-old Green Tree boy is accused of stealing $64 worth of trading cards a day after allegedly stealing earphones at Kmart. Collier police said the boy took the items on Aug. 19 and 20 and will be charged with retail theft. He was not identified because of his age.
Public drunkenness charge: Collier police said they charged Melissa, Subbaiahis, 38, of Carnegie, with public drunkenness while along Tee Court on Aug. 26.

WHEN THE (ROOFERS) SHOWED UP IN A MERCEDES , THAT SHOULD OF RANG A BELL IN THE HOME OWNERS HEAD.MOST OF THESE SCAMS CAN BE AVOIDED. IF IT DOESNT LOOK RIGHT IT PROBALY ISNT.
