A Bridgeville man who is a registered sex offender for an indecent assault in 2011 was arrested last month and accused of prostitution in the borough.

Bridgeville police said they charged Kenneth Capes, 24, with prostitution and criminal solicitation following an incident on Station Street on Feb. 4.

Capes allegedly received sex acts from another man, and then that man also gave him DVDs and promised him an additional $80, police said. Police said there later was a disagreement about the money.

Police did not identify the other man or say if he would face charges.

What is this world coming too?? Channel 11 had this story on the news last night and the scarey part is this guy lives on my street and we had no idea he was a registered sex offender!! If he wasn't in the area why was he arrested?? If this has happened 5 times why aren't the police arresting the other person for making false reports?

This man is not by any means innocent, but the charges are because a 17 year old girl named concented to sexual relations. She was dating a guy, decided to go to Ken's house, drink, have sex and then felt bad for cheating. The charges were due to indescent exposure. The charges were dropped in court because the girl lied, but because she was 17, he was still added to Megan's Law. The charges brought recently are false, and the only reason this was posted was because he was on probation for the indescent exposure. Was he wrong for sleeping with a 17 year old girl while he was 24? Yes, of course, but the news and articles like this make it out to be a young child. This girl openly offered herself to sexual intercourse, and laughed in court like it was a joke. I can understand the articles being posted, but understand all of the facts first

No where in this article does it state or make it sound like it was a young child Mike is just reporting the information that was given to him by the police. People make decisions everyday and have to live with the consequences of their actions. If the 'victim' is lying and the charges are false then it should come up in court.

Just spoke to Bridgeville police Chief Chad King, who said investigators dropped the prostitution charge in exchange for Capes pleading guilty to summary disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to time already served during his hearing with District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet.

Thank you for bringing this up. We always make sure to update the court cases in the event charges are dropped, withdrawn or moved to Commonwealth Court.
