Don’t be alarmed if you see police cars outside Chartiers Valley Primary School on Monday.
Numerous police departments plan to use the school for an ALERT training exercise on how to stop an active shooter in an emergency situation.
The school is closed to students during the day due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.
The drill is similar to training that police departments from across the area participated in at Chartiers Valley High School last January and at South Fayette High School last month.
Collier, Bridgeville and numerous other police departments are participating in the drill.
