Get Out: Flea Market, Olympics and Charity Tournament

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

 

1. More...For the Love of Chocolate
Where/When: Crate, 11 to 2 p.m. on Friday
Why Go: Embrace your dark side with Linda Mason.  Explore the world of sweet possibilities with bittersweet, semisweet, milk and white chocolate. To coax the most flavor from your chocolate, you will learn the secret to making professional chocolates in this new class. Click here to register.

2. “Timeless Treasures” Flea Market
Where?/When?: 320 McMurray Rd, Pittsburgh, PA, 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday
Why Go?: The DeMarillac Guild of St. Louise DeMarillac Church is holding a flea market "Timeless Treasures" on Friday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, July 28 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a bag sale from noon to 1 p.m. in the LeGras Parish Center. Items will include jewelry, decorative items, knick knacks, kitchen items, gently used children's clothing to 4T and much more.

3. Scrappy Scrabblers
Where?/When?: Bridgeville Public Library at 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Come to the library to enjoy an afternoon of scrabble.  New players are always welcome so bring your friends.  Registration is not required.

4. Olympics
Where?/When?: Scott Township Public Library, 6 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Some peoples’ biggest dreams are to be in the Olympics. This year the Summer Olympics are being held in London. Can’t get to London? How about participating in Scott Library’s Summer Olympics? Your dream just may come true and you could take home an awesome medal from our wild and wacky Olympics. No real talent required. Just prepare to have a lot of wild  fun. This program is for ages 5 & up. There will be teams for different age levels, to be determined. This program is free but registration is required.

5. Lt. Terrace Mulkeen Memorial Scholarship and Golf Tournament
Where?/When?: Lindenwood Golf Club at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The Lt. Terrence Mulkeen Memorial Golf Tournament is a charity outing that funds a $6,000 scholarship of the same name.  Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 1 p.m. A ticket for a hot dog and drink will be given to each golfer. Participants should arrive by 12:30 p.m. to allow plenty of time to register. The cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner-only guests are encouraged to arrive at this time. The buffet dinner (dress is casual) begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by awards ceremony and prize raffle. Click here for more information.
