Gasline Rupture in Glendale Forces Evacuations

Construction crews working in the Scott Township neighborhood of Glendale accidentally hit a natural gas pipeline, causing it to rupture and force the evacuation of several nearby homes.

 

Construction crews working in the Scott Township neighborhood of Glendale accidentally hit a natural gas pipeline, causing it to rupture and force the evacuation of several nearby homes.

The pipeline rupture happened shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Magazine Street.

It’s not known how many homes had to be evacuated. Glendale firefighters were seen walking in front of a house closest to the rupture.

Emergency responders closed Magazine between Orris Way and Orchard Street.
