Charges waived to court
- Charges of drunken driving, disregarding traffic devices, marijuana possession and disorderly conduct against Christian M. Shea, 22, of Upper St. Clair, were waived to court. Bridgeville police charged Shea on Sept. 8.
- Drunken driving charges against Lydia L. Bruno, 44, of Imperial, were waived to court. Bridgeville police charged Bruno on Sept. 9.
- Drunken driving charges against Scott Trimmer, 40, of Cecil Township, were waived to court. Collier Township police charged Trimmer on Aug. 30.
- Drunken driving charges against Maureen S. Dwyer, 32, of Venetia, were waived to court. Collier Township police charged Dwyer on July 26.

Charges held for court
- Charges of forgery, bad checks, identity theft, conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance against Brandon Raineri, 33, of Canonsburg, were held for court. Scott Township police charged Raineri on Oct. 24.
- A marijuana possession charge against Stephen A. Bobchak, 26, of Coraopolis, was held for court. Scott Township police charged Bobchak on May 4.
Charges waived to court
- Charges of forgery, bad checks, identity theft and conspiracy against Diana Klein, 35, of Scott, were waived to court. Scott Township police charged Klein on Oct. 24.
- Charges of drunken driving and speeding against William Lang, 33, of Heidelberg, were waived to court. Heidelberg police charged Lang on Sept. 9.
- Charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended license against Robert Parker, 43, of Bridgeville, were waived to court. Scott Township police charged Parker on Aug. 7.
- A retail theft charge against Tashae M. Griffin, 19, of Hazelwood, was waived to court. Scott Township police charged Griffin on Oct. 27.
Charged reduced or dismissed
- A disorderly conduct charge against David L. Loidl, 27, of Collier, was reduced to a non-traffic citation. Scott Township police charged Loidl on Oct. 26.
- A simple assault charge against Cody Bean, 19, of Scott, was dismissed. Scott Township police charged Bean on May 11.

THE CRIME OF DRIVING DRUNK MUST NOT MEAN MUCH TO A LOT OF PEOPLE. PERHAPS IF THEIR CAR WAS TAKEN AWAY AND RESOLD BY THE POLICE DEPT THAT CAUGHT THE DRUNK THEN MAYBE JUST MAYBE, THE DUI NUMBERS WOULD DROP.

Much of my family lives overseas and the laws in their country are much more strict about driving under the influence. They treat it as severely as we treat federal offenses. For that reason, there are a whole lot more cabs and a lot less tragedy. C'mon USA!
