Chartiers Valley Places in Top 50 of School Rankings
Chartiers Valley High School ranked 35th in combined SAT scores against other regional schools. See how the district compares to other schools in the South Hills.
Chartiers Valley School District ranked in the Top 50 of area high schools for best state standardized test scores.
Chartiers Valley High School students ranked 35th in combined SAT scores, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times.
The combined SAT score of 1,499 in 2012 was an increase of 2.5 percent over the previous year.
"We’re hopeful this is indicative of the overall focus on increasing academic rigor throughout the Chartiers Valley School District," the district said in a written statement. "While we’re happy about this accomplishment, we recognize that the results of a single test aren't a comprehensive measure of success. As we move forward, we remain focused on increasing academic rigor and providing our students with an exceptional academic foundation."
South Fayette High School ranked 11th in the region with combined SAT scores of 1,589. Upper St. Clair ranked first overall, while Mt. Lebanon ranked third and Peters Township finished sixth.

I want accountability!!! New superintendent (about 2 years ago) and new Team CV School Board members and 35th isn't impressive at ALL! In Pittsburgh Business Times, rank of schools based on 2012 PSSA scores as compared to 2011 we dropped from 42 to 45. However, in the list of fastest growing communities Collier Twp ranks #7, which means increased tax dollars. Now, I was recently told by someone that Chartiers Valley spends the same, or very close per student, as Upper St. Clair (and they are ranked one in the region, as well as number one in the state)

The list was compiled from schools around Westerns Pennsylvania. There are more than 100 school districts in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler Washington and Westmoreland counties. But other counties in the other surrounding areas (Armstrong, Indiana, Lawrence, Greene and Fayette) may have also been included in list.
