The Chartiers Valley Middle School orchestra will perform at the Allegheny County Courthouse for the holiday season.
Many school music groups are scheduled to perform this holiday season in the 45th Annual Holiday Choral Program in Pittsburgh.
The Chartiers Valley Middle School orchestra will perform on Dec. 17 at 11:30 a.m. on the Grand Staircase of the Allegheny County Courthouse at 436 Grant Street in downtown Pittsburgh.
Performances this holiday season are each weekday at 11:30 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. until Dec. 19. A dozen local choirs and orchestras will participate in this year’s program. Each performance will also be broadcast on the Grant Street side of the Courthouse.
Participating schools also are making donations of filled stockings to The Holiday Project, a program that has provided holiday gifts to children and youth who receive services through the Allegheny County human services system since the late 1960s. Concert-goers can make a donation of an unwrapped gift. More information about The Holiday Project, including suggested gifts, is available at http://www.alleghenycounty.us/dhs/holidayproject.aspx.

So glad to see that Mrs. Schollenberger is still working her magic with CV's musicians. I always loved the marching bands she led at football games--she really pushes the kids to do their best and it shows!
