A Bridgeville home sustained smoke damage and its garage was destroyed when a car caught fire inside.

Bridgeville fire Chief Bill Chilleo said the car was parked inside the garage at 247 May Ave. around 2 p.m. Monday.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze before it did more damage to the home. Chilleo said the garage was destroyed from the car fire and there was some smoke damage to other parts of the home.

No one was injured in the fire.
