Two people were arrested and charged with a string of thefts of belongings from LA Fitness gym lockers.
Collier police said on Aug. 30 the gym’s employees stopped a man who they apparently saw stealing items out of gym lockers and held him until officers arrived.
Police said they arrested Ryan Davin of South Park at the scene and charged him with theft, trespassing, criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property and possession of drugs.
They later found Brian Maceil, 24, of South Park, waiting in a car outside the gym and accused him of being an accomplice. Maceil faces charges of theft, criminal conspiracy and possession of drugs.
Investigators said they had admitted to stealing items out of LA Fitness lockers before, but it was not clear on how many occasions. The sprawling gym in Great Southern Shopping Center has been the target of many thefts from unlocked lockers.
