1. Friday Fish Fry
Where/When: Friday night at local churches and fire halls.
Why Go?: This week commences the Lenten season, which also means the return of the fish fry! We've compiled a list of churches, volunteer fire departments and other organizations around the South Hills where you can enjoy a nice fish meal.

2. Caregivers Round Table
Where?/When?: Scott Township Public Library, 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: If you are responsible for an adult loved one and have questions, concerns, or experiences to share, you are invited to meet with others who are in the same situation.  The group will consider:  your experiences, support groups, legal issues, care facilities/in-home services, hospice.  Call 412-429-5380 to register.

3. Bower Hill Fire Department Spaghetti Dinner
Where/When: 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Grab a great spaghetti dinner for a good cause at the Bower Hill Volunteer Fire Department. All proceeds used toward the medical expenses of Bower Hill firefighter Bryan Pritchard, who is awaiting a kidney and pancreas transplant. For advance tickets, call 412-221-3497.
Pricing: $8 for adults and $4 for kids

4. Kirwan Heights Night at the Races Fundraiser
Where?/When?: Kirwan Heights Vol. Fire Dept., 5:30 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Kirwan Heights Volunteer Fire Department is now selling tickets and “horses” for its Night at the Races Fundraiser on Feb. 25. Admission is $20 before the event and increases to $25 if tickets are bought at the door. There also will be a Chinese auction that night. To purchase tickets or horses, call Mike Quinlan at 412-780-9487 or email him at natr@kirwanfire.com. Anyone in attendance must be 18 or older to enter the Night at the Races.

5. Movie Nite
Where/When: St. Thomas More Church, 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go: Join all students in grades 8 to 12 for a movie night in the Family Life Center. Popcorn and drinks will be served. Bring a favorite snack to share. The movie will be Fireproof. Come for a great flick and discussion. Bring your friends!
